Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dynamic Aboriginal Health Worker to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital!

Are you Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (N.B. An applicant’s race a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW)?

Do you have willingness and commitment to undertake the Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health) course?

Undertake the Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health) course. Under supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team, provide appropriate health care to consumers referred to the Mental Health Service and develop the necessary skills and knowledge to be a competent Mental Health Worker. Promote the mental health and well-being of the Aboriginal people and the wider communities and where possible, work in a holistic way to prevent the development of mental health problems.

Ability to travel for training and to attend university study blocks is a requirement of the position.

This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2020_017)
